In the 80-page account of Smith’s recent voyage and explorations, he calls Massachusetts Bay “The paradise of all those parts.” The full title of the book is: A Description of New-England: or, The Observations and Discoveries, of Captain John Smith (Admirall of that Country), in the North America, in the Year of Our Lord, 1614. Smith produces a map of the area in 1616.
